high country pottery sale

Sorrento Pottery Sale - August long weekend
This annual pottery sale is the highlight of the August long weekend.

It features some of BC's finest pottery ranging from high fired functional pottery to raku, sculpture, porcelain and crystalline glazed pieces. There are a number of functional potters working in stoneware, so there's lots to choose from.

And there's more. Each year invited artists bring work from other creative genres. This year there will be iron work, weaving, fused glass, silver jewelry, and handmade paper. All the work is hand crafted, making it an original and unique event.

The sale runs two days, on Saturday and Sunday. For the curious, there is plenty of time to talk with the artisans. Each one has something to say about their work, and there is lots to see. Admission is free.

When you get close there will be plenty of signs along the highway advertising the pottery sale. A local landmark is a picturesque little church on the south side of the highway. The hall is on the north side.

Traveling West
- Go through town and turn right about 100 yards after the blinking amber.
Traveling East - You'll see a highway sign marking Sorrento, 2 km. When you enter the 70/kmh speed zone, the hall is on your left.
